WisCon is a convention with an annual membership capped at 1,000 fans who are as equally passionate about feminism and social justice as they are about the next awesome work of science fiction (or fantasy or horror, et cetera) they’re going to read, watch, or listen to.
Which means WisCon could be the perfect place to promote your project. We have several ways that you can get information about your book, podcast, call for submission, fan group (and so on) into the hands of our members. WisCon is an especially great venue for you to promote your own upcoming convention! Read below about our Advertising and Freebie Tables.

WisCon offers various levels of paid advertising and sponsorship opportunities. Sponsorships are available around the convention to get your logo in front of the eyes of our members for 4 long days.
Sponsor our Gathering Event – $550
• Thanked in an announcement made during our opening event, the Gathering
• Thanked in a blog post, in an issue of our electronic newsletter, and on WisCon’s social media.
• Your banner and a notice thanking you for your generosity will be prominently displayed throughout the Gathering. The sole event held throughout our initial afternoon, our 1,000 convention members attend the Gathering to reconnect with friends, for refreshments, and to participate in entertainment.
Sponsor our Hospitality Suite – $2,500.
• Thanked during our Guest of Honor keynote speeches event, a formal program attended by our 1,000 convention members on the Sunday evening of WisCon.
• Thanked in a blog post, in our electronic newsletters throughout the year, and on WisCon’s Facebook, Twitter,
and Instagram
• Your banner and a notice thanking you for your generosity will be prominently displayed in our Convention Hospitality Suite (Con Suite), the social and dining hub of WisCon. All of our one thousand convention members visit this space for coffee, tea, conversation, snacks, and meals throughout all four days of WisCon and long into the evenings.

Freebie Tables

Do you have swag promoting your book, convention, podcast, or other project that you’d like promote to WisCon attendees? You’ll want to consider our Freebie Tables! While most conventions and conferences traditionally have swag bags, as part of our sustainability initiatives we’ve switched to Freebie Tables — these allow our members to pick and choose what catches their eyes which eliminates a lot of paper waste.
What can I send?
The freebie tables are something of a smorgasbord of flyers, promotional items like bookmarks, buttons, fake tattoos, and the occasional cache of advanced reader copies. Anyone can provide things to be placed on the freebie tables, but all items will be reviewed in light of our guiding principles and we reserve the right to discard any items that we deem inappropriate. If you’re not sure if your promotional items are right for WisCon, we encourage you to contact us at promos@wiscon.net to inquire.
How much should I send?
WisCon caps its membership at 1,000, but bear in mind that anything left on the Freebie Tables will either be donated (books) or discarded (everything else). Please contact us at promos@wiscon.net. and let us know what you’re interested in sending. We will work with you to determine the right amount of material to send. We accept deliveries from late April until the week before the convention every year.
